To streamline the process of becoming greener, the APEX/ASTM Environmentally Sustainable Event Standards were created. This industry-specific program with third party verification and registry through the Green Meeting Industry Council helps planners and vendors with measurable protocols and accountability. Completing this major credentialing initiative has been the latest focus among venues and destinations, but it hasn’t reached all parts of the event industry.
To date, there are no specific green standards or credentials for destination management or third party planning companies. Just Right!
