News about the LAX Expansion
LAX-it, a solution to ease traffic during the major LAX expansion, is scheduled to open on October 29, 2019. You can learn more about it here. This change impacts those travelers getting picked up by taxi, Lyft, Opoli, or Uber. We’re sure that the updates being done to the airport leading into 2023 will vastly improve it, but what do travelers need to know right now?
If you’ll be arriving at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) after October 29th, you’ll need to be prepared for lots of walking and additional time getting to your taxi or ride app drivers. Free shuttles will be available as an alternative to walking, but will also add time to your trip. Be sure to plan accordingly!

You’ll want to schedule travel with care, and communicate clearly with travelers to prepare them for these changes.
- Those traveling with lots of luggage will likely encounter greater inconvenience than other travelers. Encourage attendees to pack as lightly as they can manage.
- To ensure a smoother experience, book black car service, as these vehicles can still pick up guests inside the terminal and curbside.
