Indianapolis
A city known for fast cars and blockbuster events has also gained acclaim for a flourishing culinary and brewing scene, thriving cultural institutions, cool neighborhoods, and so much more.
As you land in Indianapolis, the first thing you’ll notice is the airport. Indianapolis International Airport has been named the best airport in North America in 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, and 2010 by Airports Council International, best airport in America from Conde Nast Traveler, and has been rated #1 (on everything from security to baggage claim) by travelers in a J.D. Power & Associates poll.
When USA Today readers were asked to rank their Top 10 Convention Cities, Indy came in at #1. Indianapolis is proud to boast some of the finest meeting facilities in the country. In the convention business, our star is the Indiana Convention Center, and it still shines like new after undergoing a major expansion in 2010. Its companion facility, connected by an enclosed walkway, is Lucas Oil Stadium, a multi-use facility that was named “Best Stadium of the Year” three years running by Stadium Journey Magazine. Bankers Life Fieldhouse, just three blocks from the convention center, was called the “Finest NBA arena in the country” by the Sports Business Journal. Then there’s the Indiana State Fairgrounds, a versatile collection of facilities that just received some major upgrades and offers up a world of possibilities. We are confident that Indy has the right venue for your event, from hotel spaces to historic ballrooms and everything in between.
What makes Indy stand apart? The answer is connectivity. A record 4,700 rooms and 12 hotels connect by an enclosed skywalk to 749,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space – that’s more than you’ll find in any other U.S. city. Downtown’s 7,100 rooms include top brands like Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Crowne Plaza, Omni, Westin, Embassy Suites, Le Méridien, Conrad, and Sheraton. These hotels are integrated into the heart of a vibrant convention package featuring more than 300 restaurants, shops, and attractions in walking distance. Keep challenging logistics to a minimum, increase attendee engagement, and enhance after-hours networking by getting Indy into your rotation.
Urban explorers can also stroll to a collection of monuments and memorials rivaled only by Washington D.C. Be sure to get a photo at Monument Circle, the physical and spiritual heart of the city. Eager for a cultural encounter? Take a short drive to the Indianapolis Museum of Art, where the lush grounds are the perfect complement to the expansive galleries.
From the largest single-day sporting event in the world to the largest children’s museum in the world, Indy has big surprises around every turn.
